Allen-Bradley 1747-SN Universal Remote IO Scanner Module

The Allen-Bradley 1747-SN Remote I/O Scanner Module is the SLC 500 system’s dedicated interface for connecting a PLC processor to remote I/O racks over the Remote I/O (RIO) network. As the RIO scanner for SLC 500, it enables data exchange between an SLC processor and remotely located I/O modules, translating PLC-5 style addressing into the SLC I/O data image. The SLC 500 processor I/O data table has a total limit of 4,096 I/O points, which the 1747-SN helps populate through remote I/O transactions. Remote racks link to the scanner via the 1747-C10 or 1747-C11 blue hose adapters, forming the physical path for I/O status and control signals. Typically installed in an SLC 500 rack, the 1747-SN is designed to support distributed I/O communications across multiple remote racks and can be used with SLC 5/02 and 5/03 processors to extend I/O reach in automation installations.
