Allen-Bradley 1756-OX8I is a ControlLogix eight-point isolated relay output module that provides eight independent relay contacts for switching industrial loads from a single I/O module. Each channel is galvanically isolated from the backplane and from the other channels, and the unit uses a 36‑pin backplane interface to connect to the 1756 bus. The module draws about 2.9 W of backplane power (3.1 W max at 60 °C) and is rated for load voltages of 5–125 V DC or 10–240 V AC, with per‑point current ratings of 1 A @ 5–30 V DC, 0.5 A @ 48 V DC, 0.22 A @ 125 V DC, 1.5 A @ 120 V AC (50/60 Hz), or 0.75 A @ 240 V AC (50/60 Hz). This makes it suitable for driving solenoids, valves, and other relay-controlled devices in ControlLogix projects where isolated outputs help protect the controller from electrical noise and faults. Configuration and commissioning are performed in Rockwell’s Studio 5000 Logix Designer within the ControlLogix ecosystem, and firmware support for 1756-OX8I extends to version 3.003.
