Allen-Bradley 1756-DHRIO Communication Interface
Allen-Bradley 1756-DHRIO Communication Interface
Description:
Allen-Bradley 1756-DHRIO is a ControlLogix Data Highway Plus/Remote I/O communication interface module that sits in a 1756 backplane to bridge a ControlLogix processor with a DH+ network, enabling data exchange with DH+ remote I/O devices and legacy DH+ systems within a modern ControlLogix setup. It supports Data Highway Plus networks and provides multi-network routing capability, allowing a single module to route messages through up to four DH+ networks and across three chassis for complex, multi-hop installations. For Series C (Version 5.2 or later) devices, DH+ baud settings include 115.2 kbaud and 230.4 kbaud, broadening compatibility with varied DH+ configurations. Typical applications include integrating DH+ remote I/O racks with a ControlLogix controller, connecting legacy DH+ devices to newer networks, and acting as a bridge between DH+ networks and other Rockwell Automation communications within a single ControlLogix chassis. As part of the 1756 family, the 1756-DHRIO expands I/O connectivity by providing a dedicated DH+ interface that complements other I/O modules, enabling reliable data transfer and messaging for automation tasks that rely on Data Highway Plus networks.
