Allen-Bradley 1756-DNB DeviceNet Scanner Module
Allen-Bradley 1756-DNB DeviceNet Scanner Module
Description:
The Allen-Bradley 1756-DNB DeviceNet Scanner Module is a single-port DeviceNet master for ControlLogix that plugs into a 1756 chassis as a one-slot, standard-width module and serves as the gateway between a DeviceNet field network and a Logix backplane. It provides one DeviceNet port with a 5-pin screw-terminal interface (CAN_H, CAN_L, Drain/Shield, +24 V DC, 0 V DC) for DeviceNet devices and supports baud rates of 125 kbps, 250 kbps, and 500 kbps (software-selectable). Up to 63 slave devices can be connected on a single scanner (MAC IDs 0–63), with support for multiple scanners on separate segments. The module includes a USB 2.0 port for temporary local programming and is configured using RSNetWorx for DeviceNet or Studio 5000 / RSLogix 5000 Add-On Profile for DeviceNet devices. Electrical data indicates a backplane current draw of about 400 mA at 5.1 V (0 mA at 24 V DC) and a typical power dissipation of 3.5 W. Operating temperature ranges from 0 °C to 60 °C (32 °F to 140 °F), with storage from -40 °C to 85 °C and non-condensing humidity of 5–95%. When installed in a panel, the enclosure is rated IP20. Certifications include UL Listed, cULus, CE, C-Tick, and ODVA conformance. Compatible controllers cover all Logix5000 families (e.g., 1756-L55, L6x, L7x, L8x), enabling seamless integration of DeviceNet sensors, actuators, and I/O devices into a Studio 5000 or RSLogix 5000 project.
