Allen-Bradley 1756-EN2TR EtherNet/IP Interface is a dual-port Ethernet/IP communication module for Rockwell ControlLogix controllers, delivering two copper RJ-45 Ethernet ports for 10/100 Mbps network connectivity to bridge the backplane and external EtherNet/IP networks. It supports up to 128 TCP connections, enabling robust I/O and messaging traffic between the ControlLogix rack and devices such as HMIs, PLCs, and other EtherNet/IP-equipped equipment. The module provides continuous isolation of 30 V between the Ethernet network and the backplane and supports Device Level Ring (DLR) topologies for fast network recovery, alongside standard linear configurations. Typical uses include connecting remote I/O, distributing EtherNet/IP traffic across network segments, and enabling explicit messaging between controllers and devices while maintaining I/O control within the ControlLogix system.
