Allen-Bradley 1756-IA16 16-Point 120V AC Input Module

Allen-Bradley 1756-IA16 is a ControlLogix 16-point digital AC input module that provides 16 discrete 120 VAC inputs for the 1756 backplane. It uses a 20-pin removable terminal block and is organized as two eight-point groups for field wiring. The module accepts an input voltage range of 74–132 VAC (nominal 120 VAC) at 47–63 Hz, with a per-channel on-state current of 5–13 mA depending on voltage and an off-state current up to 2.5 mA (off-state voltage up to 20 V). Total backplane power is 0.58 W, with a maximum dissipation around 5.8 W at 60 °C. Input timing features include screw-to-backplane delays up to 10 ms (Off-to-On) and up to 8 ms (On-to-Off), with configurable input filtering of 1 ms or 2 ms (Off-to-On) and 9 ms or 18 ms (On-to-Off). This module is commonly used to sense binary field devices such as pushbuttons, limit switches, or proximity sensors operating from 120 VAC in industrial automation projects, and is compatible with Rockwell Automation firmware for the 1756-IA16 family (for example, firmware around version 3.004).
