Allen-Bradley 1756-IA16 ControlLogix Input Module

The Allen-Bradley 1756-IA16 ControlLogix input module provides 16 isolated AC digital inputs for ControlLogix systems, accepting 79–132 VAC signals and occupying a single backplane slot. The inputs are arranged in two 8-point groups with 125 V continuous isolation between inputs and the backplane, an input impedance of 8.8 kΩ at 132 VAC, and a nominal operating range of 74–132 VAC at 47–63 Hz. Total backplane power is approximately 0.58–0.71 W, with a maximum dissipation of 5.8 W at elevated temperatures, and typical current draw of about 125 mA at 5.1 V and 3 mA at 24 V. Timing is revision-dependent: screw-to-backplane delay can reach up to 10 ms (Off-to-On) and 8 ms (On-to-Off), with user-selectable input filter times commonly 1–2 ms or 9–18 ms to suit noise immunity; wiring uses removable terminal blocks such as 1756-TBCH or 1756-TBS6H, and the module features a module health display for quick diagnostics.
