Allen-Bradley 1756-IB16 16-Channel Analog Input Module
Allen-Bradley 1756-IB16 16-Channel Analog Input Module
Description:
The Allen-Bradley 1756-IB16 is a 16-channel digital input module for the ControlLogix backplane that reads 10–31.2 V DC sinking inputs from field devices. It supports 16 inputs (8 points per group) across two groups and is available in non-isolated (IB16) and isolated (IB16K) variants to suit different isolation needs. The operating voltage range is 10–31.2 V DC with a 12/24 V DC input category, and each channel presents an off-state voltage maximum of 5 V and an off-state current maximum of 1.5 mA; on-state current must be at least 2 mA at 10 V and can be as high as 10 mA at 31.2 V. Total backplane power is 0.56 W, with maximum power dissipation around 5.1 W at 60 °C. Wiring uses a 20-pin terminal interface to accommodate all 16 inputs, and the module plugs into a ControlLogix chassis to feed discrete input status to the processor. Typical applications include sensing digital signals from switches, sensors, and safety/interlock devices in automated machinery, where a Rockwell Automation 1756 I/O module integrates with Studio 5000 or RSLogix-based projects.
