Allen-Bradley 1756-IB16 16-Point Digital Input Module
Allen-Bradley 1756-IB16 16-Point Digital Input Module
Description:
The Allen-Bradley 1756-IB16 is a ControlLogix 16-point digital input module that provides 16 sinking DC inputs for a 1756 backplane, designed to monitor 12–31.2 V DC signals with a nominal 24 V DC input and an operating range of 10–31.2 V DC. Each channel draws 2–10 mA on the 24 V supply, with an off-state current max of 1.5 mA and an off-state voltage max of 5 V; total backplane current at 24 V is 2 mA, and the module’s maximum power dissipation is 5.1 W at 60 °C, with ~0.56 W of backplane power. The module features 250 V continuous isolation between inputs and the backplane (no isolation between individual inputs) and uses field wiring via removable terminal blocks (sold separately). Input timing is configurable, with off-to-on delays around a few hundred microseconds and on-to-off delays up to about 1 ms plus user-selected filter times. It is built for the ControlLogix ecosystem and is compatible with standard 1756 I/O chassis; the operating temperature range is 0 to 60 °C. This 16-channel DC digital input module is commonly used to monitor 24 V DC sensors and switches, providing a scalable solution for digitizing discrete field signals for PLC logic.
