Allen-Bradley 1756-IB16 16-Point Input Module
Allen-Bradley 1756-IB16 16-Point Input Module
Description:
The Allen-Bradley 1756-IB16 is a 16-point DC input module for ControlLogix systems that accepts 12/24V DC signals and presents them as discrete backplane inputs, arranged in two eight-point groups on a 20-pin interface; the nominal input voltage is 24V DC with an operating range of 10–31.2V DC. It is a sinking 12/24V DC input module, drawing about 2 mA from the 24V supply per module, with a backplane power of 0.56 W and a maximum power dissipation of 5.1 W at 60°C (140°F). Key electrical characteristics include an off-state voltage up to 5V and off-state current up to 1.5 mA; on-state current ranges from 2 mA minimum at 10V to 10 mA maximum at 31.2V; and input delay times of about 290 μs (off-to-on) and 700 μs (on-to-off) with user-selectable filter times (0 ms, 1 ms, or 2 ms depending on configuration). This module is commonly used to monitor digital sensors and switches in ControlLogix automation systems, providing a robust 24V DC interface for industrial I/O tasks.
