Allen-Bradley 1756-IB16I 16-Point 10-30VDC Isolated DC Input Module

The Allen-Bradley 1756-IB16I is a 16-point DC input module for ControlLogix that accepts 10–30 VDC signals from field devices. Each of its 16 inputs is individually isolated (per-point isolation) with 250 V continuous isolation between inputs, and it uses a 36-pin backplane connector for straightforward wiring to the controller. The module targets a nominal 24 VDC input and supports a wide operating range to accommodate standard industrial sensors. Electrical specs include a per-channel input current draw of approximately 3 mA at 24 V, off-state current under 1.5 mA, and an on-state current range of 2–10 mA depending on input voltage (min 2 mA at 10 V, max 10 mA at 30 V), with inrush current up to 250 mA. Timing features include hardware response up to 1 ms plus a user-selectable input filter time of 0, 1, or 2 ms to help suppress noise in industrial environments. The 1756-IB16I provides discrete input status for each channel to the ControlLogix CPU and is suited for reading signals from devices such as switches, proximity sensors, and limit switches in automation installations, all within the ControlLogix I/O framework and compatible with standard 1756 I/O racks.
