The Allen‑Bradley 1756-IB16ISOE is a 16‑channel, DC isolated input module for ControlLogix systems that provides sequence‑of‑events (SOE) timestamping on every input transition. It accepts DC input signals in the 10–55 VDC range (nominal 24 VDC) and features 250 V continuous isolation between inputs and from inputs to the backplane, with a 36‑pin removable terminal block for wiring. As an SOE input module, it records per‑channel event timing to support high‑resolution sequencing and time‑stamped control logic. Timing characteristics include a hardware delay of 10 μs (nominal) / 20 μs (max), firmware scan up to 25 μs, a user‑selectable input filter window of 0–50 ms, and an ASIC delay of 175 μs (FIFO) or 625 μs (Coordinated System Time per point). Each input draws about 2 mA at 24 V, contributing to a maximum module power dissipation around 5.5 W at 60 °C. The IB16ISOE is designed to be used in a ControlLogix I/O rack, interfacing with Rockwell Automation software tools for programmatic event handling and logic that relies on precise input timing.
