Allen-Bradley 1756-IB16S Safety Input Output Module

Allen-Bradley 1756-IB16S is a 16-point ControlLogix safety input module that provides 24V DC digital inputs in a sinking configuration for safety I/O networks. It accepts a 10–30 VDC input range and uses a 36-pin terminal interface compatible with standard ControlLogix racks. As part of Rockwell’s digital safety I/O family (Series A), the IB16S can support SIL CL3, PLe, and Cat 4 safety subsystems when wired to appropriate single- or dual-channel safety devices. Typical applications include monitoring safety interlocks, emergency-stop circuits, door interlocks, and other 24V DC safety devices within a ControlLogix safety architecture; its channel-level diagnostics report input states and fault conditions to the controller, aiding safe operation and fault isolation. Designed for 24V DC safety inputs, this module provides 16 independent safety input points for building robust safety-related control logic.
