Allen-Bradley 1756-IB32 ControlLogix DC Input Module
Allen-Bradley 1756-IB32 ControlLogix DC Input Module
Description:
Allen-Bradley 1756-IB32 is a ControlLogix DC digital input module that provides 32 inputs (16 points per group) for 10–31.2 VDC operation with 12/24 VDC sink inputs, making it well-suited for reading industrial 24 V sensors and switches in ControlLogix systems. The module delivers fast screw-to-backplane timing, with Off-to-On delays up to 380 μs plus a user-selectable filter (0, 1, or 2 ms) and On-to-Off delays up to 420 μs with filter options of 0, 1, 2, 9, or 18 ms on the IB32K variant. Typical backplane current is 120 mA at 5 V and 2 mA at 24 V, with a maximum power dissipation of 6.2 W at 60 °C (21.1 BTU/hr) and total backplane power around 0.66 W. Off-state voltage is limited to 5 V with off-state current up to 2.27 mA; on-state current ranges from 4.8 mA (min) at 10 V to 5.5 mA (max) at 31.2 V, and input impedance is up to 5.67 kΩ at 31.2 V. The module supports up to 250 V continuous isolation from the backplane and reinforced insulation between inputs, though there is no isolation between individual input groups. It uses removable terminal blocks (e.g., 1756-TBCH, 1756-TBS6H) for field wiring and is designed for seamless integration with 1756 chassis I/O backplanes in industrial automation.
