Allen-Bradley 1756-IB32 Digital DC Input Module
Allen-Bradley 1756-IB32 Digital DC Input Module
Description:
The Allen-Bradley 1756-IB32 is a ControlLogix digital DC input module that provides 32 sinking DC input points in two 16-point banks for use with 1756 backplanes and Rockwell Automation Logix controllers. It accepts 10–31.2 V DC input range with a nominal 24 V DC signal, and uses removable terminal blocks (1756-TBCH or 1756-TBS6H) for field wiring on a 36-pin interface. Each input draws 4.8–5.5 mA when ON and up to 2.27 mA OFF, with OFF-state voltage up to 5 V and OFF-state current up to 2.27 mA, ensuring compatibility with typical 24 V sensors and switches. The module backplane power is 0.66 W, and backplane currents are about 120 mA at 5 V and 2 mA at 24 V, with a maximum dissipated power of 6.2 W at 60 °C. Inrush current can reach 250 mA, decaying to less than 37% in 22 ms if not energized. Timing characteristics include an off-to-on delay up to 380 µs plus a programmable input filter (0, 1, or 2 ms) and an on-to-off delay up to 420 µs plus a programmable filter (0, 1, 2, 9, or 18 ms). This 32-channel DC input module is designed for rugged industrial environments and integrates with Rockwell’s 1756 I/O architecture, enabling direct connection of 24 V sensors and switches while preserving a compact, two-bank layout for simplified wiring and troubleshooting.
