Allen-Bradley 1756-IF8 ControlLogix eight-channel analog input module provides eight independent analog inputs for voltage or current signals within a ControlLogix system. The module supports eight single-ended inputs or four differential inputs via a 36-pin interface, enabling flexible wiring for mixed sensors and rapid channel configuration. It accepts voltage ranges of ±10 V, 0–10 V, and 0–5 V, and a current range of 0–20 mA, with the effective resolution adapting to the selected range (approximately 320 µV per count for ±10 V in 15-bit bipolar mode, 160 µV per count for 0–10 V in 16-bit mode, 80 µV per count for 0–5 V in 16-bit mode, and about 0.32 µA per count for 0–20 mA in 16-bit mode). The module draws about 200 mA from a 5.1 V rail and about 30 mA from a 24 V rail, with a total backplane power draw of 1.74 W, making it suitable for use in standard ControlLogix backplanes without requiring special power supplies. As part of the ControlLogix I/O family, the IF8 is used for precision data capture from analog sensors in process monitoring, machine automation, energy management, and other industrial applications where accurate voltage or current measurement is essential.
