Allen-Bradley 1756-IF8 ControlLogix Analog Input Module
Allen-Bradley 1756-IF8 ControlLogix Analog Input Module
Description:
The Allen-Bradley 1756-IF8 is an eight-channel ControlLogix analog input module designed for installation in a 1756 I/O backplane. It provides eight input channels that can be wired as eight single-ended signals or four differential pairs, enabling flexible connection of voltage and current sensors to a ControlLogix PLC. Supported input ranges include ±10 V, 0–10 V, 0–5 V, and 0–20 mA, with per-range resolutions around 16 bits (0–10 V and 0–5 V ranges) or 15 bits plus sign for the ±10 V range, and 0–20 mA with 16-bit effective resolution. The module draws about 200 mA from a 5 V rail and about 30 mA from a 24 V rail on the backplane, contributing roughly 1.74 W of backplane power. Maximum power dissipation is listed as 1.73 W for voltage inputs and 2.33 W for current inputs. Terminal blocks are user-removable (typical options include 1756-TBCH or 1756-TBS6H). As part of the 1756 I/O family, the 1756-IF8 is compatible with Rockwell Automation programming software for ControlLogix projects and is commonly employed to acquire analog process signals for monitoring, control, and instrumentation in industrial automation.
