Description:
Allen-Bradley 1756-IF8I is an eight-channel isolated analog input module for ControlLogix backplanes, providing per-channel galvanic isolation and eight independent input points in a single 36-pin module.
Each channel can be configured to sense voltage or current within the ranges -10 to 10 V, 0 to 10 V, 0 to 5 V, or 0 to 20 mA, enabling a mix of sensor types on one card.
The module delivers 24-bit resolution per channel, with voltage ranges offering about 1.49 µV per count and current ranges around 2.99 nA per count for precise measurements across the full scale.
Per-point isolation protects the controller from ground loops and allows signals from different references to be measured safely.
Power draw from the backplane varies by mode: voltage mode about 4.6 W; non-sourcing current mode about 5.1 W; sourcing current mode about 7.3 W.
The 1756-IF8I uses eight isolated inputs in a single module with 36-pin wiring, and a conformally coated variant, 1756-IF8IK, is available for harsher environments.
