Allen-Bradley 1756-IH16I is a ControlLogix 16‑point DC digital input module with per‑channel isolation, designed for use in 1756 backplanes and wired via a 36‑pin terminal block. It supports 16 independently isolated DC inputs with the ability to configure wiring as sinking or sourcing, and operates on a 90 to 146 VDC range with a nominal 125 VDC per input. Each channel is galvanically isolated from the backplane (and from other channels) with a continuous isolation rating around 250 V between input and backplane; off‑state input voltage must be no more than 20 V and off‑state current up to 0.8 mA, while on‑state current per channel ranges from 1 to 3 mA depending on supply voltage (up to 146 V). The module dissipates up to 5 W (about 17.05 BTU/hr) and draws a small amount of backplane current during operation. This 16‑channel isolated input module is built for ControlLogix I/O backplanes and relies on the 36‑pin terminal block for field wiring, enabling straightforward integration of high‑voltage DC sensors and safety interlocks in automation racks, with galvanic isolation to protect the controller and field devices.
