Description:
The Allen-Bradley 1756-IT6I is a six-channel isolated thermocouple input module for ControlLogix backplanes, designed to convert thermocouple signals into a digital value for PLC processing. Each of the six inputs is independently isolated and the module supports Cold Junction Compensation (CJC) to improve accuracy across a range of environments. It accepts thermocouples of B, E, J, K, R, S, T, N, C, D, and L (TXK/XK) with ITS-90 linearization, and provides two input ranges: -12 to 78 mV (standard) and -12 to 30 mV (high-resolution), delivering about 1.4 µV/bit (typical) in standard mode and 0.7 µV/bit in high-resolution mode. The unit uses a 20-pin backplane interface to support six input channels, making it suitable for precise, multi‑TC sensing in industrial automation. Rockwell Automation notes this module was discontinued as of March 31, 2017.
