Allen-Bradley 1756-IV32 32-Point Digital Input Module
Allen-Bradley 1756-IV32 32-Point Digital Input Module
Description:
The Allen‑Bradley 1756‑IV32 is a ControlLogix 32‑point digital input module that provides 32 sourcing 12/24 VDC inputs across two 16‑point groups, wired via a 36‑pin terminal block. Designed for ControlLogix I/O backplanes, it accepts an operating voltage range of 10–30 VDC with a nominal 24 V input and draws about 2 mA from 24 V (about 120 mA at 5.1 V for internal circuitry). Backplane power is 0.66 W, and maximum power dissipation is 4.1 W at 60 °C (140 °F), with thermal dissipation rated at 14 BTU/hr under those conditions. Input transition times are Off‑to‑On 350 μs nominal (1 ms max) plus a user‑selectable input filter of 0, 1, or 2 ms, and On‑to‑Off 540 μs nominal (2 ms max) with the same filter options. The module reads discrete 24 V DC sensors such as switches or simple proximity devices, enabling reliable digital input collection in automation tasks. As a high‑density option for ControlLogix systems, the 1756‑IV32 combines dense I/O with compact wiring, making it suitable for applications requiring a robust 32‑point, DC input interface in manufacturing line automation, packaging, material handling, and process control scenarios.
