Allen-Bradley 1756-L62 ControlLogix Memory Controller

The Allen-Bradley 1756-L62 ControlLogix Memory Controller is a ControlLogix CPU module configured with 4 MB of user memory and about 478 KB of I/O memory, purpose-built to run complex logic and manage sizable tag data within a single controller chassis. It supports fixed memory configurations of 2, 4, or 8 MB and offers optional nonvolatile storage via a CompactFlash card (1784-CF64) to preserve programs and data across power cycles. As part of the ControlLogix platform, it integrates into standard backplane architectures and supports common industrial networking setups through compatible I/O and communications modules. This memory-rich L62 is well-suited for applications requiring larger onboard memory for elaborate control programs, extensive data logging, and substantial data-handling in manufacturing environments. Rockwell Automation discontinued the 4 MB Memory Controller variant on June 1, 2017, and it is no longer available new; existing installations should consider replacement with a compatible 1756-L62-based solution or other suitable control options.
