Allen-Bradley 1756-L63 ControlLogix Processor
Description:
The Allen-Bradley 1756-L63 ControlLogix Processor is a high-memory CPU in the ControlLogix family designed for large, scalable automation projects; it provides 8 MB of memory for program and data plus RIUP (remove-insert-under-power) capability that lets technicians swap the processor without powering down the rack. The L63 includes a built-in RS-232 serial port for maintenance and diagnostic access and supports broad network connectivity through compatible modules—EtherNet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, and Data Highway Plus—allowing the CPU to communicate with remote I/O, controllers, and drives, while integrated motion features via SERCOS are available in configurations that enable encoder and servo interfaces. This 5563 processor is designed to handle complex control logic with up to 32 tasks and up to 100 programs per task, delivering the scalability needed for large plant automation within a ControlLogix architecture.
