Allen-Bradley 1756-L71 ControlLogix Processor
Description:
The Allen-Bradley 1756-L71 ControlLogix Processor is a 2 MB Logix5571 CPU designed for ControlLogix racks in mid- to large-scale automation projects. It provides 2 MB of user memory for storing and executing ladder logic, structured text, and data handling, enabling robust control of complex machines and processes. The unit includes a USB 2.0 programming/download port and a built-in 4-character alphanumeric display for local status, faults, and quick diagnostics without a PC. A 1756-SD1 nonvolatile memory card is included with every controller, offering 1 GB of persistent storage to retain programs and data when power is removed, with optional expansion as needed. As a central processing unit in ControlLogix architectures, the L71 coordinates I/O modules on the backplane and interfaces with other system components through standard ControlLogix networking options via add-on modules. Typical applications span automated packaging lines, process control, material handling, and other industrial automation tasks requiring reliable, scalable PLC performance.
