Allen-Bradley 1756-L73 ControlLogix Processor
Allen-Bradley 1756-L73 ControlLogix Processor
Description:
The Allen-Bradley 1756-L73 ControlLogix Processor is a high-performance 5573-series controller for ControlLogix systems, combining robust processing with USB programming and EtherNet connectivity. It provides 8 MB of user memory and about 0.98 MB of I/O memory, supporting up to 128,000 I/O points, including up to 4,000 analog I/O and 128,000 digital I/O. The module includes a USB port for local programming and diagnostics and Ethernet connectivity for EtherNet/IP communications, enabling networked control and remote monitoring. Installed in a ControlLogix chassis, the 1756-L73 acts as the central processing unit coordinating large-scale automation across dispersed I/O networks and drives. Typical applications include motion control in manufacturing, packaging lines, batch and process automation, and material-handling systems where fast processing and expansive I/O are essential. Electrical characteristics show a typical power draw of about 2.5 W and an isolation rating of 30 V between the processor and I/O, reinforcing suitability for rugged industrial environments. As part of the ControlLogix 5570 family, this processor supports scalable, modular configurations with straightforward field replacement and maintenance.
