Allen-Bradley 1756-LSP Safety Processor Module

Allen-Bradley 1756-LSP is the GuardLogix Safety Partner Processor Module that serves as a dedicated safety co-processor in a GuardLogix I/O chassis. It runs safety logic in lockstep with the primary GuardLogix controller to implement SIL 3 and PL e-rated safety applications, handling safety inputs, safety outputs, and diagnostics in concert with controllers such as 1756-L61S, L62S, and L63S. The Safety Partner works to validate safety functions and maintain synchronization with standard control tasks within a single GuardLogix system. Note that Rockwell Automation announced discontinuation of the GuardLogix Safety Partner products on June 1, 2017, though existing units may still be encountered in the field.
