Allen-Bradley 1756-OA16 is a ControlLogix 16-channel digital AC output module that switches 74–265 V AC loads from a backplane-connected controller. The module organizes its outputs into two groups of eight, supporting up to 0.5 A per point (0.5 A at 60°C) for a total module current of 4 A at 60°C. It accepts 74–265 V AC input with a frequency range of 47–63 Hz and draws about 400 mA from the backplane at 5 V, with a maximum power dissipation of 6.5 W at 60°C (22.17 BTU/hr). Isolation between outputs and the backplane is 250 V continuous, and each group is protected by a 3.15 A, 250 V AC slow-blow fuse. Removable terminal blocks (1756-TBNH or 1756-TBSH) provide wiring connections, while electronic keying enables software-based configuration. Off-state leakage is up to 3 mA per point, and the on-state voltage drop is typically 1.5 V at 0.5 A (up to 5.7 V when load current is below 50 mA). Switching delays are specified at 9.3 ms (60 Hz) and 11 ms (50 Hz), with scheduled outputs capable of synchronization within 16.7 s relative to Coordinated System Time. Ideal for industrial AC control of loads such as motors, relays/solenoids, heaters, and lighting, the 1756-OA16 delivers reliable, grouped 16-point digital output in a compact ControlLogix I/O footprint.
