Allen-Bradley 1756-OA16I ControlLogix 16-point AC digital output module delivers 16 independently isolated 74–265 VAC outputs in a 36-pin format, designed for ControlLogix systems to switch high-voltage AC loads. Each channel is isolated from the others, enabling multi-domain wiring and safer interfacing with relays, contactors, and other AC devices within the 47–63 Hz range. The module’s operating voltage range is 74–265 VAC, with worst‑case switching delays of 9.3 ms (OFF to ON) and 9.3 ms (ON to OFF) at 60 Hz (11 ms at 50 Hz). It draws minimal backplane power (1.59 W total) and dissipates up to 5.5 W at 60 °C, supporting a pilot-duty rating of 2 A per channel. Electrical characteristics per point include an off-state leakage current up to 3 mA, and an on-state voltage drop up to about 1.5 V at 2 A (6 V peak at currents below about 50 mA). The module also supports surge capability of up to 20 A for 43 ms per point (repeatable every 2 seconds at 60 °C) and a minimum load requirement of 10 mA per point. Since it is not internally fused, external protection is recommended to safeguard the outputs. Ideal for controlling AC coils, contactors, and other AC loads in industrial automation, the OA16I provides robust, isolated DC-free switching within the Rockwell/Allen-Bradley ControlLogix ecosystem.
