The Allen‑Bradley 1756‑OA8E ControlLogix AC Output Module is an 8‑point AC digital output card for ControlLogix backplanes, delivering eight electronically fused outputs rated for 74–132 VAC at 47–63 Hz. The module arranges outputs as two groups of four, with 2 A per point and a per‑group maximum of 4 A (8 A per module at 30 °C, with linear derating to 2 A per point at 60 °C). It uses a 20‑pin terminal block (1756‑TBNH/TBSH family) for wiring and provides 125 V continuous isolation between outputs (and group‑to‑group separation) and the backplane, with no isolation between individual group outputs. Internal power consumption is about 200 mA at 5.1 V and 250 mA at 24 V, contributing to roughly 7.02 W of backplane power and up to 5.5 W of dissipation at 60 °C. Switching delay from OFF to ON is approximately 9.3 ms at 60 Hz (11 ms at 50 Hz), with a similar order of magnitude for ON to OFF. The device supports surge currents up to 20 A per point for ~43 ms (repeatable every 2 s) and includes per‑point electronic fusing. This module is suitable for applications requiring discrete AC control of loads such as contactors or relays in industrial automation environments, using 74–132 VAC signaling, and is compatible with 1756 backplanes in ControlLogix systems.
