Allen-Bradley 1756-OB16E Digital Output Module
Allen-Bradley 1756-OB16E Digital Output Module
Description:
The Allen-Bradley 1756-OB16E is a ControlLogix digital output module that provides 16 DC outputs in a two-group arrangement for reliable control of loads such as solenoids, relays, and indicator circuits in a 1756 I/O backplane. It operates on 10 to 31.2 V DC and delivers up to 1 A per point, with a total module current rating of 8 A (two eight-point groups) and electronic fusing per group for protection. Each output point features an off-state leakage of up to 1 mA and an on-state voltage drop of up to 400 mV at 1 A; the module draws about 2 mA from the backplane at 24 V, with total backplane power around 1.32 W and a maximum dissipation of 4.1 W at 60 °C. Wiring is accomplished through the removable 1756-TBNH terminal block (20-pin). The OB16E is electronically keyed and software-configurable to prevent mis-wiring, and it provides defined timing characteristics: off-to-on delay about 70 µs nominal (up to 1 ms max) and on-to-off delay about 360 µs nominal (up to 1 ms max). Surge capability per point reaches 2 A for 10 ms, repeatable every 2 seconds at 0 °C. With 16 DC sourcing outputs and 250 V isolation between the output groups and the backplane, this module is designed for ControlLogix systems requiring compact, dependable control of 24 VDC actuators and indicators in industrial automation.
