Allen-Bradley 1756-OBV8S Safety Output Module

The Allen-Bradley 1756-OBV8S Safety Output Module is an eight-channel ControlLogix safety output device that provides eight 10–30 VDC safety outputs through a 20-pin removable terminal block, designed for use on the 1756 ControlLogix I/O bus. It supports bipolar/sourcing output configurations and can be configured for either single-channel mode or dual-channel mode to create redundant safety paths; the outputs are implemented as solid-state safety outputs suitable for demanding automation safety circuits. Safety features include pulse-testing to detect field wiring short-circuits to 24 VDC and a mode alignment with the Safety Task, which can differ from the controller’s operating mode, allowing tailored safety behaviors within a given safety program.
