Description:
The Allen-Bradley 1756-OW16I is a 16-point, isolated-relay output module for the ControlLogix I/O system, delivering sixteen normally open relay contacts that are individually isolated from the backplane and from one another. It accepts an operating voltage range of 10–265 VAC or 5–150 VDC, with per-point load ratings that depend on voltage: up to 1 A at 5–30 VDC, 0.5 A at 48 VDC, 0.22 A at 125 VDC; for AC loads, up to 1.5 A at 120 VAC (50/60 Hz) or 0.75 A at 240 VAC (50/60 Hz). Turn-on and turn-off delay are specified as 10 ms maximum, with an off-state leakage current of up to about 1.5 mA per point. The module uses a 36-pin backplane interface and provides 250 V continuous isolation between outputs and the logic/backplane, as well as isolation between output points themselves. Each contact can hold its last state in fault or program mode (Off is the default), offering deterministic behavior in control sequences. With rated life up to 300,000 cycles for resistive loads and 100,000 cycles for inductive loads, the OW16I is designed for durable, field-relay replacement within ControlLogix-based installations, enabling compact, sixteen-channel control of higher-voltage or higher-current loads without discrete relays on the field side.
