Allen-Bradley 1756-OX8I Output Module
Allen-Bradley 1756-OX8I Output Module
Description:
Allen‑Bradley 1756‑OX8I is an eight‑channel isolated relay output module for ControlLogix systems, delivering eight SPDT (normally open/normally closed) relay outputs with independent, galvanic isolation from the backplane and between channels. It uses a 36‑pin RTB interface and features electronic, software‑configurable keying to ensure proper installation and operation within a chassis. The module accepts a broad operating voltage range of 5–125 V DC or 10–240 V AC, with per‑point current ratings that vary by voltage: up to 1 A at low DC voltages (5–30 V DC), 0.5 A at 48 V DC, and 0.22 A at 125 V DC; for AC loads the ratings are 1.5 A at 120 V AC (50/60 Hz) and 0.75 A at 240 V AC (50/60 Hz). Backplane power consumption is about 2.9 W, with a maximum dissipation of 3.1 W at 60 °C, and each channel switches with an Off‑to‑On / On‑to‑Off delay of up to 13 ms. In fault mode, each output can hold its last state, enhancing predictability during power events or faults. These specifications—8 isolated relay outputs, NO/NC contacts, 250 V isolation between outputs and backplane, and compatibility with ControlLogix—make the 1756‑OX8I suitable for controlling loads such as solenoids, indicators, small relays, or other devices that require isolated, discrete switching.
