Allen-Bradley 1756DNB DeviceNet Communication Module

The Allen-Bradley 1756-DNB DeviceNet Communication Module is a ControlLogix DeviceNet bridge/scanner that adds a single DeviceNet port to a Rockwell Automation ControlLogix chassis and can be mounted in any slot on a compatible rack. It provides one open-style DeviceNet port (5- or 10-pin) for connecting field devices and serves as the DeviceNet master on the network to interface with sensors, actuators, and I/O devices. The module supports three baud rates—125 Kbps, 250 Kbps, and 500 Kbps—with maximum network reach of about 500 m at 125 Kbps, 250 m at 250 Kbps, and 100 m at 500 Kbps, and it supports up to 64 nodes on the DeviceNet network. Electrical characteristics include a backplane current draw of roughly 850 mA at 5.1 V DC or 3 mA at 24 V DC, with the DeviceNet port drawing up to 60 mA within the 11–25 V DC range.
