Allen-Bradley 1771-ASB Remote I/O Adapter Module is a PLC-5 Remote I/O interface that sits in a Universal I/O chassis and functions as a slave on the PLC-5 Remote I/O network, linking a central controller to distributed I/O racks. This ASB family revision (the E-series) can be mixed with 1771-ASB/B and 1771-AS in the same remote system, with a baud-rate ceiling of 115.2 kbaud or less. It is designed to work with PLC-2, PLC-3, and PLC-5 systems, enabling remote expansion of I/O for automation lines where sensors and actuators reside in distant field locations.
