Allen-Bradley 1785-PFB Profibus Communication Module

The Allen-Bradley 1785-PFB Profibus Communication Module is a PLC-5 coprocessor that adds a dedicated PROFIBUS DP interface to Rockwell Automation control systems, enabling direct data exchange between PLC-5 controllers and Profibus devices on the same network. Designed to plug into a PLC-5 1785 backplane, the module acts as the Profibus DP gateway for connecting I/O devices, sensors, and actuators distributed across a Profibus network, allowing centralized control and monitoring from a Rockwell controller without replacing existing logic. Configuration and commissioning are performed with Allen-Bradley’s 1785-PFBMGR software, which manages Profibus communication parameters and device addressing in line with the Profibus standard.
