Allen-Bradley 842E-CM-MIP1BA Ethernet IP Encoder
Allen-Bradley 842E-CM-MIP1BA Ethernet IP Encoder
Description:
The Allen-Bradley 842E-CM-MIP1BA Ethernet IP Encoder is a high-precision absolute encoder with EtherNet/IP connectivity and IEEE 1588 precision clock synchronization (CIP Sync). Designed for CIP Motion, it provides multi-turn positioning with 262,144 counts per revolution (18-bit) and up to 4,096 revolutions, using a solid 3/8 in shaft and an M12 connector. It operates on 10–30 V DC and draws about 3 W, and its EtherNet/IP interface runs at 100 Mbps over Cat-5e cabling with full- or half-duplex options, enabling deterministic, time-stamped communications across a CIP Sync network compliant with IEC 61784-1. Precision specifications include repeatability ±0.002° and an angular error limit of ±0.03°, making it suitable for high-precision motion control in CNCs, robotics, and automated manufacturing where synchronized timing across devices is critical.
