AMETEK 955SV30080 Smart Brik Linear Transducer

AMETEK 955SV30080 Smart Brik Linear Transducer is a non-contact magnetostrictive displacement sensor in AMETEK’s 955S Smart Brik family. It provides absolute position with repeatability to 0.01% of the programmed sensing distance and is built in a rugged anodized aluminum extrusion that houses the sensing element and electronics. A magnet slides along the extrusion to convey position to the sensing element, delivering an analog output. Outputs are configurable; available options include voltage outputs (V0–V7 variants such as 0–10 VDC, 10–0 VDC, -10 to 10 VDC, 0–5 VDC, 5–0 VDC, -5 to 5 VDC, 5 to -5 VDC) or current outputs (C4 4–20 mA, C2 20–4 mA). Stroke length is selected by a four-digit code (for example, 0120 for a 12.0 inch stroke). An optional wet-environment variant (E) seals electronics to IP68, and FM-classified installations may require an FM-approved cordset and connector lock per drawing E0241100 for Class I, Div 2 service. Accessories include slide magnets, side adapters, floating magnets, mounting feet, and 6 ft. or 12 ft. cables to tailor mounting and wiring to the application. Common uses include precise, repeatable position sensing in factory automation, machine tools, material handling, and process-control systems where a non-contact LDT is advantageous.
