Analog Devices AD7390A Digital-to-Analog Converter
Analog Devices AD7390A Digital-to-Analog Converter
Description:
Analog Devices AD7390A is a 12-bit, voltage-output digital-to-analog converter designed for single-supply operation from a nominal +3 V rail. It accepts a 12-bit word via an SPI-compatible serial interface and outputs a buffered DAC voltage on DACOUT, suitable for direct drive of subsequent analog circuitry. The AD7390A’s full-scale output is programmable through the REFIN reference to match the positive supply (VDD) or any fraction of it, enabling straightforward scaling without external resistors. This device is part of the AD7390/AD7391 family, optimized for micropower, compact-form applications such as battery-powered instrumentation, sensor calibration, and precision control loops. It is offered in 8-pin packages: 8-SOIC (AD7390ARZ) for surface-mount designs and 8-PDIP (AD7390ANZ) for through-hole assembly, and supports an industrial temperature range of −40 °C to 85 °C. The DAC’s on-chip output buffer provides a stable, low-impedance voltage suitable for driving the next stage in precision analog circuits, with full-scale determined by REFIN to DACOUT.
