Appleton VGL-1RE is a red UNILETS glass globe designed for use with REA Series Vaportight Enclosed and Gasketed Lighting Fixtures, delivering a durable glass enclosure for A21 medium incandescent lamps and a maximum of 150 watts for the glass globe. It accepts 60 to 150 watts (A21 medium incandescent lamps), is UL 1598 listed, and is rated for wet locations, making it suitable for moisture-prone environments. Made from glass and finished in red, the globe is intended for use in storage areas, tunnels, subways, and chemical plants where harsh conditions are present. It pairs with Vaportight luminaires and includes a connection block for easy wiring, a shock-absorbing porcelain socket for longer lamp life, and a neoprene gasket ring in the reflector neck that snaps into the mounting hood to resist vibration and chipping. A guard snaps into two recesses of the adapter with no clamps required, simplifying installation. This globe offers a compliant, red-glass option within Appleton’s UNILETS line for applications demanding UL 1598 performance in wet locations using up to 150 W incandescent lamps.
