Description:
ST5-IP-EE from Applied Motion is a 5 A per‑phase Ethernet/IP microstep drive for two‑phase bipolar step motors, designed to run from a 24–48 V DC supply and to plug directly into modern PLC networks via EtherNet/IP. It delivers 0.1–5.0 A per phase (peak‑of‑sine) for precise torque control across the motor’s speed range, and it includes an encoder input for feedback plus a stall‑prevention algorithm to help detect and prevent stalls at low speeds. The ST5/IP family is intended for networked automation, with configuration and parameterization performed through ST Configurator and Q Programmer software, and network communications handled over Ethernet/IP for programming, monitoring, and command streaming. This encoder‑enabled variant is well suited to precise positioning, pick‑and‑place, packaging, labeling, and other automated applications where direct PLC integration and wired Ethernet control simplify system architecture and reduce wiring complexity.
