Aprilaire 6404 4-Zone Expandable to 12-Zones Panel

The Aprilaire 6404 Zoned Comfort Control Panel is a four-zone master controller for residential HVAC systems that can operate 2–4 zones in its base configuration and scale up to a total of 12 zones when paired with the Model 6401 expansion panel, making it suitable for homes that require more granular temperature management across living spaces. Designed to handle single-stage or multi-stage heating and cooling, including conventional furnaces or air conditioners as well as heat pump configurations, the 6404 supports two heating stages and two cooling stages in its standard setup and includes an LCD display that simplifies installation, zone programming, and on-screen status checks. When additional zones are needed, installers can add the 6401 expansion panel (two zones per unit) to achieve a capacity of 12 zones within a single Aprilaire zoning network, with each zone controlled by its own thermostat and dampers to balance airflow. This panel is designed for use with Aprilaire dampers and thermostats, enabling independent comfort control across occupied rooms or floors and helping optimize energy use in multi-zone homes.
