Description:

The Armstrong GD-45 Direct-Acting Pressure-Reducing Valve is a 1-inch live steam regulator that steps downstream pressure down from an inlet range of 15–300 psi to a controllable setpoint of 3–15 psi, making it suitable for steam lines and non-corrosive gas services. It operates with a minimum differential of 7 psi and is rated for service up to 450°F, enabling reliable regulation in boiler rooms and distribution networks. Built for durability in demanding steam service, the GD-45 features a ductile iron body (ASTM A536), a hardened stainless steel valve seat (AISI 420), and a phosphor bronze bellows (ASTM B103), with a flow coefficient (Cv) of about 2.5 for the 1-inch size; 1/2" and 3/4" variants are also available to fit different piping layouts. Typical applications include maintaining stable downstream pressure for turbines, condensate-return systems, and other process equipment fed from live steam, where precise pressure control protects equipment and instrumentation. The regulator is part of Armstrong’s GD-45 family of direct-acting pressure-reducing valves designed specifically for steam, air, and non-corrosive gases, offering 1" nominal connections and a compact footprint that supports retrofit into existing steam headers.
