Armstrong CD-33 Series Disc Steam Trap, model CD-33 with CA40 stainless body and part number A743 (AM designation), is a compact, three-discharge-port steam trap engineered to control cycling and extend service life in demanding steam systems. It handles capacities up to 2,500 lb/hr (1,134 kg/hr) and operates up to 752°F (400°C), with a maximum operating pressure of 600 psig (41 bar) and an allowable pressure rating of 915 psig (63 bar) at 752°F. Crafted from ASTM A743 Grade CA40 stainless steel, the trap features screwed connections in sizes 3/8", 1/2", 3/4", and 1" (12, 15, 20, 25 mm) to suit a range of piping layouts. The CD-33 design uses a controlled-disc mechanism with three discharge ports, which stabilizes disc movement, reduces wear, and helps minimize cycling and maintenance. This makes it suitable for large steam mains drips, process equipment, and HVAC heating equipment operated under constant pressure. Optional accessories include a stainless steel blowdown valve and a Rain Guard Insulating Cap for the 1/2" and 3/4" sizes, enabling enhanced protection against condensate freezing and heat loss in exposed installations.
