Armstrong International CD 33 A743 CA40 BP Disc Steam Trap
Armstrong International CD 33 A743 CA40 BP Disc Steam Trap
Description:
Armstrong CD-33 Series disc steam trap, built with ASTM A743 Grade CA40 stainless steel, is a controlled‑disc trap designed to minimize cycling and extend service life in high‑temperature steam systems. It supports a maximum operating pressure of 600 psig (41 bar) and temperatures up to 752°F (400°C), with capacities up to 2,500 lb/hr (1,134 kg/hr) depending on service conditions. The 1" NPT connection version is part of the CD‑33 family, which offers multiple connection sizes to fit common piping configurations. Its three‑discharge-port design stabilizes operation and reduces wear on the disc and seat, while a hardened seat and disc improve long‑term reliability in demanding applications. The trap is freeze resistant and well suited for large steam mains, process equipment, and HVAC heating systems that run on constant pressure. For variants with an integral strainer (CD‑33S), an additional filtration stage helps protect downstream equipment. Armstrong’s CD‑33 line delivers compact, robust condensate drainage with proven performance, making it a common retrofit or new installation choice in industrial plants that require durable, low‑maintenance steam trapping.
