Armstrong International D505799 Iron Threaded Steam Trap

Armstrong 215 inverted bucket steam trap, D505799, is an iron-threaded 1" NPT steam trap rated for up to 60 psi and featuring a 7/16" orifice in a cast-iron body. Part of Armstrong’s 200 Series, it is configured for inline vertical installation with a bottom-to-top flow path that admits condensate from the boiler or exchanger and vents it efficiently. The inverted bucket mechanism opens the valve under condensate load, delivering robust wear resistance and good tolerance to hydronic shock, with a typical capacity of about 9,500 lb/hr. Standard construction uses a heavy-duty stainless steel bucket, with an optional thermic vent bucket offered for higher air discharge. It’s designed for service on heat-exchange equipment where rapid air purging and dirt tolerance are important, and it operates effectively under light loads and back pressure. The trap weighs about 44.75 lb and has a 1" NPT connection, making it suitable for retrofits where space and mounting orientation favor inline vertical installations.
