Automation Direct CR8-AP-3A Metal Sensing Proximity Switch

The Automation Direct CR8-AP-3A is a compact, metal-housing inductive proximity switch designed to detect ferrous targets within a 3 mm nominal sensing distance. The 8 x 8 x 40 mm rectangular body uses a nickel-plated brass housing and is shielded, with an IP67 rating for reliable operation in dirty or washdown environments. This DC sensor operates on 10–30 VDC and presents a 3-wire configuration with a PNP normally-open output; it ships with a 6.5 ft (2 m) axial cable (pigtail) for straightforward wiring. The device switches at up to 1 kHz and is intended for semi-flush mounting, offering a rugged metal-sensing solution for end-of-travel, position sensing, or metal-detection tasks on automated lines.
