Automation Direct D3-16NE3 Discrete Input Module

D3-16NE3 is Automation Direct’s 16-point DirectLOGIC DL305 discrete input module designed to monitor 24 VAC/VDC signals. It provides 16 isolated inputs with two common terminals (eight inputs per common) and supports both sinking and sourcing wiring, aided by a removable terminal block for straightforward field wiring. Each input accepts 14–30 VAC or DC with a peak rating of 30 V, operates at 47–63 Hz when driven by AC, and presents an input impedance of about 1.8 kΩ. The module draws up to 16 mA per input when ON, with a minimum ON current of 7 mA and an OFF current of up to 2 mA; the ON threshold is typically above 14 V and OFF below 3 V. It includes logic-side indicators to show input state and weighs approximately 6 oz. This 16-input module is intended for use with DL305 controllers, enabling reliable sensing of sensors, switches, and other 24 V logic devices in automation applications such as control panels, machine guarding, and automated lines. The two isolated commons enhance noise immunity and wiring flexibility, while the compact form factor helps keep DirectLOGIC backplanes tidy and scalable for smaller automation setups.
