Automation Direct's D4 Expansion Rack is part of the DirectLOGIC 405 DL405 family, designed to connect D4 expansion I/O modules and the D4-RM remote master module to extend a DL405 PLC system. It supports 16-point I/O modules such as D4-16NA (16-channel discrete input with 220 VAC input), D4-16ND2, and D4-16TD2, plus the D4-RM master for RS-485 remote I/O communication. The D4-16TD2 is a 16-point transistor-output module rated for a 12–24 V supply, with 0.5 A per point and 3 A per common, as detailed in the D4-16TD2 cut sheet. The D4-RM remote master module provides one RS-485 serial port and can be inserted into any slot in the local base except the CPU slot, enabling flexible topology for multi-base DL405 systems.
