Automation Direct D4-RS Remote Input Output Module

The Automation Direct D4-RS is a DirectLogic DL405 serial remote I/O slave module that expands a DL405-based control system by adding remote I/O points in a modular, distributed fashion. As a remote slave, it communicates with a D4-RM remote master installed in a local base, transferring I/O data over a single serial link to the PLC. The D4-RS requires an external 110/220 VAC power supply and provides one 5-pin terminal block port for the serial I/O connection, with cabling using shielded twisted-pair (foil shield) and a minimum of 24 AWG conductors to improve noise immunity in industrial environments. When paired with a D4-RM master and additional remote bases, the DirectLogic network can support up to 1,536 total I/O points, enabling distributed input and output across multiple machines or production lines. This module is specifically marketed as a Remote Slave Module 110/220 VAC for Automation Direct’s DirectLogic DL405 family and is designed to operate within that remote I/O architecture to extend control capability without overloading a single base.
